Community Dinner with the Backroom

Kevin Lasko and Katie Stiles, chefs, par excellence, of The Backroom in Pittsfield, will be the volunteer chefs at a free community dinner to support the Bethel Food Shelf, which serves Bethel, Barnard, Pittsfield, and Stockbridge. The menu will feature braised organic chicken from Kiss the Cow and Luna Bleu farms; organic vegetables from Heartwood Fable and Luna Bleu farms; maple cream pie made with local maple syrup, cream from Kiss the Cow Farm, and eggs from Sweet Georgia P’s; and Kiss the Cow ice cream. Randy Leavitt, John McHugh, and Justin Parks, will provide fiddle, guitar and mandolin music.

The Community Meal will be served at the White Church in Bethel, Tuesday, April 26, one sitting, at 6:00. (Seating is limited to not more than 128 seats.) Doors open at 5:30. 

Free will donations of canned goods and/or cash will be gladly accepted to benefit the Bethel Food Shelf.

Community sponsors include: Bethel area churches, the Bethel Revitalization Initiative, BALE (Building A Local Economy,) Bethel Elementary and Whitcomb School, and Stagecoach. Financial support has been provided by: The Episcopal Diocese of Vermont, Green Mountain Feeds, GW Plastics, and Mascoma Bank.
